Richard Abraham, Esquire
Richard P. Abraham, Esquire was born in Philadelphia in 1945 and has been practicing personal injury law in Philadelphia and its surrounding counties for over 36 years. Mr. Abraham has successfully handled cases in Pennsylvania Courts, as well as the United States District Court for the Eastern and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania, the District of New Jersey and the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. He is also admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court.
Mr. Abraham handles medical malpractice cases and other personal injury cases involving serious and permanent injuries. He is a member of the American Association for Justice (formerly, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America) and is active in its Birth Injury Litigation Group, Nursing Home Litigation Group and Professional Negligence Section. Mr. Abraham was also named a “Super Lawyer” in Philadelphia magazine in 2005, 2006 and 2007, and maintains an “AV” rating, the highest rating possible for both ethical conduct and quality of lawyering skill.
Mr. Abraham was responsible for a $5.5 million dollar settlement for a 9-year-old girl whose physicians at two leading hospitals failed to diagnose her spinal cord tumor until it caused permanent paralysis. He was also responsible for a $3 million dollar settlement during trial for a young boy who suffered severe visual impairment as a result of his doctors at a pediatric clinic failing to recognize that his skull was not growing normally, thereby causing permanent damage to his optic nerve. Mr. Abraham has also successfully handled several other birth injury claims, as well as achieving a $4.5 million dollar settlement for permanent brain damage to a man whose cardiac condition was not recognized and appropriately dealt with after he underwent surgery.

Mr. Abraham graduated from Temple University School of Law in 1970, where he was a member of the Temple Law Review and received the J. Howard Reber Memorial Award for excellence in writing. Immediately after graduating from law school, Mr. Abraham worked for the Honorable Robert J. Tredinnick, Judge of the Court of Common Pleas of Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
In November 1973, Mr. Abraham was the founding partner of Abraham, Pressman & Tietz, the predecessor firm to Abraham, Bauer & Spalding, PC. Commencing April 1, 2009 Mr. Abraham is continuing his representation of catastrophically injured plaintiffs by affiliating with the preeminent firm of Young Ricchiuti Caldwell & Heller, LLC.
