It was very upsetting to read about the product recall for 1 million Trek bicycles this week. According to the U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission, the bikes’ front wheels may “come to a sudden stop” or separate from the bicycle if the quick release lever on the front wheel hub comes into contact with the front brake assembly. As any 10 year old knows, this is a recipe for immediate disaster.

We know bicycles and bicycle accidents here at YRCH. Several of us are avid cyclists (and one of us rode from Oregon to Massachusetts a few decades back). We understand that your safety as a rider depends on drivers following safety rules and protecting your rights. It also depends on manufacturers providing safe equipment. If you have been injured because someone else failed to follow a safety rule or provided unsafe equipment, please contact our firm. We just may be able to help you and your family hold the wrongdoer accountable.
